Veronika Brooks, born Lenivova

Research Assistant

Veronika Brooks is a Research Associate at Fraunhofer IEG in the research group Integrated Energy Infrastructures and an external doctoral researcher at the Chair of Energy Economics at TU Dresden. Her research focuses on sector-coupled energy system modelling, infrastructure planning, and the techno-economic assessment of hydrogen and CO₂ transport and storage infrastructures in future climate-neutral energy systems.

Before joining Fraunhofer IEG in 2022, Veronika worked at the Chair of Power Plant Technology at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, focusing on battery storage, hydrogen technologies, and renewable energy integration. She holds an MSc in Environmental and Resource Management from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and a BSc in Environmental Engineering from South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. She was also affiliated with the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies as a Visiting Research Fellow, where she contributed to research on low-carbon hydrogen markets and infrastructure.
